Enabling Requisition Auto Submission

A toggle on the Setup tab that enables this feature.

When selected to On, a timer configuration appears. The Timer Configuration will be set for how long until each requisition is queued for automatic submission:

  • The accepted range is  1 - 240 minutes (4 hours)
  • Default value = 5 minutes

A progress bar will appear showing how close the requisition is to submission. Hovering over shows time remaining.

General Notes and Behavior

Changing the timer on the setup tab while requisitions are queued will reset the timer for queued requisitions.

Requisitions that don't meet the minimum requirements for submission will pop a notification for each requisition. Once validation requirements are met, requisition is queued again for auto-submission bases on the applied timer. Validation requirements may include a Gender/Species mapping or Provider mapping.

Requisitions that fail to submit will retry once after 30 seconds. If it fails again, a notification will pop once. After the 2nd failure, these requisitions will not be queued again and manual user action must take place in order to submit the requisition.

Requisitions may appear on multiple workstations for auto requisition submission. Only one workstation will be able to submit the requisition, which may cause the record to fail to submit on others. A notification will pop on all workstations if it fails twice, but these requisitions will "fall off" the Create Requisition screen when another live query is invoked on the 5 minute interval, but before doing so, a caution sign will be present with the message "Manual submission required". If a user attempts to submit, they will be notified that the submission failed because the test combination was already submitted.

For practices configured in a mutli-site setup who use auto submission, requisitions will only submit for the site that has been selected and is active on the Create Requisition screen. If you switch to another site, it will pause then reset the timers when you switch back. Marketplace may be minimized to the system tray and does not need to be the active window on the desk for requisitions to auto-submit, barring no validation fails.

The Auto Requisition Submission feature is not supported for Lab partners that require the manual input of additional fields such as pre-printed labels or specimen collection data.
