Start Requisition

In order for a requisition to be created, a linked service code must added to an invoice or to a patient visit and either saved temporarily or permanently.

Invoice

To start a requisition from the invoice window, from the Patient Window, click on the Invoice tab. Click in the code box and enter the codes. Click Save and a save dialog window will appear.

Click the appropriate save button to start the requisition. Save Temporary is the option selected when the invoice is not complete. Save Permanent is selected when the invoice is ready to be totaled and posted.

Patient Visit

This workflow typically originates at the Appointment window where the patient has a pending appointment. Right click and select check-in. Right click again and open the visit window. Under Plan, enter service and inventory codes. At top left click "Ready to Invoice" to proceed to invoice or "Save" to save in un-posted state. Either action will trigger requisition for lab work entered under plan section.

Manually Attach Results

Automatically attached results are not currently supported. However, the practice may be interested in manually attaching results to the patient's records.

Save Results from Browser

After opening the results from VetLabs, click the save icon in the lower right of the browser to save the results to the computer.

Attach to Visit

Click Account in the top left of IntraVet. Navigate to the owner, then select the patient from their list of pets. Click the yellow folder icon to open the patient's medical history. From the visit tab, right click in the invoice with the test and select Edit Visit.

Click Attachments at the top, then click New. You will then be able to navigate to the location where you saved the results, so you can attach them in IntraVet. Once the results are attached, delete the saved file from the computer.

Create New Service Code

  • From the windows menu click Setup
  • General codes
  • Procedure
  • To edit, select a code and click Edit
  • To create a code, click New and complete details. 

Produce List of Lab Codes

  • From the windows menu select Setup
  • General codes
  • Procedure
  • Print Report
  • Under department code click the drop down and double click Laboratory
  • Click Display

Verify Doctor Status

Follow the steps below to make sure a user is also a doctor. For IntraVet 4.5, all users marked as Providers are considered doctors.

  • From the windows menu click Setup
  • Hover over Security
  • User Setup
  • Search for and select the user you want
  • Make sure there is a check next to Provider Note: Once this has been selected and saved, it cannot be undone.

Workflow Setup

During training, our trainer will ask if your practice workflow is compatible with Pending Activity or Transaction based workflows. If your practice wishes to submit tests from the Pending Activity workflow, only tests that are temporarily saved will appear in the Create Requisition screen. If you practice prefers to submit tests from the Transactions workflow, only tests that have been invoiced and saved permanently (closed) will appear on the Create Requisition screen.
