Start Requisition

The primary means of triggering a requisition in Vetlabs is the Patient Visit List. The PVL can be managed from the Patient Clipboard > Patient information section > Patient Visit List.

The applied code must be mapped in Vetlabs, associated with an active doctor user in Cornerstone, and be in either the Accepted (green check mark) or Performed (dollar sign on paper) status. Once done, hit OK to save the entry.

Mapped codes posted to an invoice will also be eligible for submission.

Setup Lab Template for Discrete Writeback

See this article for more information about discrete writeback.

As a prerequisite, a Cornerstone Lab and Lab Template may need to be created. We recommend a lab-specific template, which may not yet exist within your Cornerstone instance. Follow these steps to create one:

  • Sign into Cornerstone using an account with sufficient permissions to adjust system tables
  • Setup Laboratory:
    • In the file menu, navigate to Activities > Lab Work > Laboratories
    • From the new Lab List dialogue box, click New
    • In the "Lab information" section, enter a Name and Lab ID.
      • Name should be the name of your reference lab, while Lab ID can be an abbreviation (e.g.: Countryside Reference Labs, CRL)
      • All other options can be left as their default
    • Click OK
  • Setup Lab Template:
    • In the file menu, navigate to Activities > Lab Work > Templates
    • From the new Templates dialogue box, click New
    • In the "Template information" section, enter a Name
      • Name should be the name of your reference lab
    • Click OK

With these templates created, allow Marketplace to 1-2 hours to complete a couple different sync processes so they may populate within Vetlabs. To configure the Vetlabs application to perform discrete writebacks, complete these steps:

  • Launch the Vetlabs application
  • Click your lab icon
  • Navigate to the Mapping tab, then Setup
  • Enable the Discrete Writeback toggle
  • Make drop-down selections for Lab and Lab Template
  • Click Save
